The Kentucky Mountain Health Alliance, Inc. is a non-profit organization that was formed in 2005 and began to serve as a single point of entry for the Healthcare for the Homeless program, the Little Flower Clinic, and the Rotary Free Clinic services. The Kentucky Mountain Health Alliance (KMHA) is the product of many different initiatives uniting under the common goal of providing quality healthcare to the underserved.
It is the vision of KMHA to ensure access for all people and eliminate health disparities through the provision of quality holistic care in an integrated system of services for the citizens of Southeastern Kentucky.
In the spring of 2012, KMHA was pleased to move into the newly renovated Little Flower Clinic facility. The counties in which KMHA serves are among some of the unhealthiest in the nation. Perry county is far above the national average for diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, and obesity. This coupled with high unemployment rates and high poverty levels make KMHA an incredibly important healthcare resource in the region. By providing access to healthcare, KMHA hopes to improve the health and wellness of Southeastern Kentuckians.
